WHY VOTE YES
ELECTION DAY • NOV 3
FIVE REASONS TO VOTE YES
#1 • O’Fallon has outgrown its Library
Our community has doubled in size over the past 30 years, but our Library hasn’t grown with it. People are already being turned away from programs because there isn’t enough room. A new Library would be more than twice the size, with space for community events, quiet study, children’s activities, collaboration space, STEM and makerspace programs, group work and more.
#2 • The Library serves all of O’Fallon
There’s a Library card in more than 6 in 10 O’Fallon households. Children, families, students, seniors, entrepreneurs and lifelong learners rely on the Library for programs, technology, learning opportunities, meeting spaces and resources that bring people together and enrich everyday life.
#3 • Designed for today and tomorrow
After input from the community, the Library identified the spaces residents want most, including quiet and study areas, children’s learning spaces, multipurpose rooms and flexible spaces. Those flexible spaces can adapt as programs, technology and community needs change, helping avoid costly renovations in the future.
#4 • The Library has already saved $5 million
The Library has responsibly saved $5 million to put toward the project, reducing the amount taxpayers will finance and making the most of the community’s investment. The average homeowner can expect to pay about $2.44 per week extra, based on a $296,000 home.
#5 • A strong Library helps make O’Fallon a great place to live
The Library is a source of community pride and an important part of O’Fallon’s quality of life. Investing in it today helps ensure our community remains a great place to live, learn, work and raise a family for generations to come.
